For security concerns

Di María won't return to his original club

Former Argentina striker Angel di María will not return to play for the team where he emerged as a player and of which he is a fan: Rosario Central.

This was confirmed by the club's president, Gonzalo Belloso, who revealed that the player cited insecurity as the main reason for not returning to the institution.

36-year Di María finished his contract with Portugal 's Benfica a few days ago.

As a result, there had been speculation that he might end his career with his hometown club, where he played between 2005 and 2007.

But, for the past decade, Rosario has been going through a crime wave mainly driven by drug gangs.

Finally, the footballer - who retired from the Albiceleste after winning the second championship against Colombia - decided to renew his contract for one more season with Benfica.
